Proudley regional - Estate grown - Quality, innovation & personality - Tradition redefined
Company Overview
In the 1990s, when the interest and demand for Australian table wine was increasing tremendously, an extensive search by a group of passionate wine professionals, for an area suitable for producing an innovative range of regional wines, led back to Rutherglen, and in 1996 Rutherglen Estates was born.

lanted in 1997.
With new concepts, management techniques and cutting edge technology, we now have a total of 308 hectares (over 700 acres) 'under vine' on five sites within the region, the largest vineyard development the region has ever seen.
Our stae of the art winery was completed in 2001, and now processes up to 3000 tonne of grape annually, predominantly from our own vineyards, but also for some local growers.
Approximately 25% of the wine we produce is for our own wine range, the balance is for large wine companies who also recognise the regions potential as a premium fruit source.

Mission
We bear the name of one of the oldest and most recognised wine regions in Australia and our mission is to produce the most regionally typical premium wines from varieties most suited to the Rutherglen region. Our wines are produced entirely from fruit grown on our own vineyards. Our professional winemaking and viticultural teams use a combination of traditional and modern, cutting edge methods to deliver an innovative range of top quality premium wines.
Products
Dry table wines from the later ripening varieties from the warmer Mediterranean regions. Varieties such as Viognier, Marsanne, Roussanne, Savagnin, Grenache, Mouvedre and Shiraz from France (particularly the Rhone Valley) have deemed ideal, as is the Sangiovese, Nebbiolo, Fiano and Arneis from Italy, as well as the proven local icons, Durif, Muscat and Tokay.
