Magic Milawa

The ride from Wangaratta to Milawa and back is a very rewarding one. Firstly you get a choice of destinations for your half way break. There are numerous places to get a coffee or a light lunch in and around Milawa. The Cheese Factory, Brown Brothers, the Bakery or the Milawa Pub are great places to stop for a rest in Milawa. Just a few short km's down the road is Oxley where the team at Sam Miranda's will welcome cyclists with open arms.

There are a few different routes that can be taken to get to Milawa. You can head out along Oxley Flats Rd or out along the King Valley Rd. If you want to explore some of the regions finest producers why not take the Rail Trail out to Everton and then head back into Milawa from here. Again, you will be rewarded with some wonderful produce.

Ride Rutherglen

Rutherglen is the perfect place to ride all year round. For years people have been cycling around Rutherglen visiting the many wineries and food produces which call the region home. Rutherglen is one of Australia's oldest wine regions with many remaining family run enterprises.

Rutherglen is very accessible to all level of cyclists. The proximity of all of the sights of the region means you can ride for as long as you want but there is always a place to stop and have a break.

While in the region make sure you vist Wahgunyah on the Mighty Murray River. The Murray River continues to play a key role in the history of Australia. It is the lifeblood for many farmers as well as a playground for generations of Australians.
