Located only 3 hours drive from Melbourne along the Hume Freeway, the Murray to the Mountains Rail Trail is easily accessed by car.
The trains should be up and running by the end of 2010, stopping at Wangaratta Railway Station, where you can roll your bike out onto the doorstep of the Rail Trail.
Other points of entry include the Albury and Hotham Airports where connections are available to the key towns along the Trail - Don't worry about a bicycle your can hire one at all the major centres.
